The movie was released in 2014 and the star cast includes Riteish Deshmukh, Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and others. The story revolves around Guru, a quiet, tough and ruthless boy. After the love of his life, his pregnant spouse (portrayed by Shraddha), gets murdered by a serial killer (played by Riteish), he goes all out in pursuit of revenge. The movie received positive remarks from the audience. Ritesh Deshmukh and Siddharth Malhotra were praised for their commendable performances.
Also known as Raghav Raman 2.0 is an Indian neo-noir psychological thriller that was released in 2016. The film is directed and produced by none other than Anurag Kashyap. It stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vicky Kaushal and Sobhita Dhulipala. The movie is based on the life of real-life serial killer Raman Raghav. He killed several homeless people in Mumbai during the 1960s. He used Bludgeon and killed his victims which generated widespread panic. After getting caught, he confessed to 41 murders. In the movie, Kashyap wanted to portray the period of the 1960s. But since his movie Bombay Velvet failed, he realized it was difficult to arrange the required finances. So, he wrote the movie in contemporary times. The movie shows Ramanna, a maniac murderer who finds a soulmate in Raghavan, a policeman. While Ramanna kills homeless people, Raghavan inspects those cases. The movie is said to be gripping and visceral. So, it received a positive response from the audience.
The Stoneman Murders
The Stoneman Murders is a neo-noir crime thriller that was released in 2009. The movie is based on real-life Stoneman killings during the 1980s in Mumbai. It is directed by Manish Gupta and the cast includes Kay Kay Menon, Arbaaz Khan, and others. In the real story goes, a mystery killer used to kill footpath dwellers by throwing stones at them. The movie follows the same storyline, where the director tries to reconstruct the real events. The gripping story and gout performance make it one of the must-watch movies based on serial killers.
