It has become a sort of trend in Bollywood to acquire the rights of south films and remake them in Hindi. Even big names like Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan are not untouched by the success of Tollywood. Drama, comedy, storyline, and action-packed sequences are some of the qualities of films from the South that set them apart and make them an even bigger hit than Bollywood movies.
The latest addition to this trend is ‘Khiladi’, which Salman Khan reportedly wants to purchase the rights to. Salman Khan’s recent movie, ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ has taken huge losses and has received mostly negative reviews from viewers and critics.
Salman Khan’s movie ‘Wanted’ was also a remake of South film Mahesh Babu’ starrer Pokiri, which was a huge success.
The teaser for Khiladi dropped on April 12 and became an instant hit. The movie is directed by Ramesh Varma and stars Ravi Teja in the lead role. Ravi Teja will play a double role in the film and it casts two heroines, Dimple Hayathi and Meenakshi Chowdhary Arjun.
Salman Khan was so impressed with the teaser of the film, the reports claim that he bought the rights of the film and has asked the director Ramesh Varma to direct the Hindi version also, but it is not clear as to whether he has accepted the offer or not.
We’re sure that the Bhai of Bollywood will not be deterred by the reviews of ‘Radhe’ and will come back stronger for his fans across the world.
