‘Prabhas21’ starring Deepika Padukone to start shooting this October

Baahubali actor Prabhas and Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone join hands for Nag Ashwin’s science-fiction movie. The movie is set to start its production in October this year.

The director had said, “Due to the pandemic and his [Prabhas] other commitments; we will only be able to shoot in June or July now.” The movie was supposed to start its production earlier but like everything going around, it now got delayed due to the surge in novel coronavirus.

The film is going to be a sci-fi drama that will show some shades of last year’s Jadageka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari, with Chiranjeevi and the late Sridevi in the lead. The movie will also mark Deepika’s Tollywood debut. Superstar Amitabh Bachhan is also reported to feature in the movie and will play a pivotal role.

Reports have also claimed that there are talks of releasing the movie in English along with five other Indian languages. Close sources from the movie said “Nag Ashwin and the entire team of this science-fiction tale are planning to release the film in not just the five Indian languages- Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada but also in English, giving it the platform to perform and grab eyeballs across the globe. The idea is to make the biggest pan-world film from India.”

The director also mentioned that actor Prabhas is under a hectic schedule. He is busy shooting for Adipurush and Salaar. He said “Adipurush is based on Ramayana and Prabhas plays Lord Rama in it. A film like that will reach all the corners of the country. I believe after a film like that, Prabhas’ market will rise by at least 30 per cent. I see it as a great opportunity to make a film with him after that. That’s not the reason for the delay though.”

Deepika is also set to star alongside Amitabh Bachhan for the Hindi adaptation of ‘The Intern’, a Hollywood blockbuster. She will also be seen in the action-packed movie Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan.
