Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to direct Shah Rukh Khan after 20 years

Two of the most talented artists in the Hindi film industry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shah Rukh Khan gave us ‘Devdas’ in 2002. However, they haven’t worked together on a project ever since. Those who have been waiting to see them work together again need not worry as it seems like that spell will be broken really soon.

According to sources, the ace director is looking forward to working with King Khan and has already approached him with the script that will bring to life yet another romantic saga like Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani. The movie is supposedly titled ‘Izhaar’ and is a project that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been wanting to work on with Shah Rukh Khan for about four years

Not revealing too much about the movie, according to sources, the story revolves around an Indian man and a Norwegian woman where the guy travels all the way to Norway on a bicycle, simply for love. It is supposed to be based on a real-life story. Bhansali has worked and reworked the screenplay in order to persuade Shah Rukh Khan.

There were rumours flying around that Shah Rukh Khan had rejected two movies that Sanjay Leela Bhansali had offered him. These rumours suggest that the movies that Shah Rukh rejected were Padmavat and Bajirao Mastani. There were also rumours that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to cast Shah Rukh and Salman Khan in the sequel of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but that rumour subdued itself.

Shah Rukh Khan is set to make a comeback with Pathan. He was last seen in Zero alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. On the other hand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been preparing for the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi which is being played by Alia Bhatt. He is also busy working on his upcoming web series Heera Mandi which will star Sonakshi Sinha.
